
School Students ESOL
English lessons for school students have the purpose of making the student(s) feel more comfortable and confident in the NZ school system, while increasing their academic achievement in all subject.
Some of the specific goals that students have had are:

getting a good score in NCEA English

moving from ESOL to mainstream English

achieving the Literacy standard (Reading & Writing)
-
increasing their vocabulary and English language skills for other subjects such as Maths, Physics, Geography
Lessons can be scheduled between 330pm and 7pm Monday to Thursday, and between 3.15pm and 515pm on Fridays. During school holidays it is possible to schedule lessons throughout the day.
Normally, most students do from 2 to 4.5 hours per week. Lessons are normally 1 hour long, but can be 1.5 or 2 hours if there are 2 or more students learning together.
